The last few days has reminded us all the rainy season is upon us and summer is near. Hot summer days and wet afternoons can affect some of the improvement projects on your property. Common sense tells us that you shouldn’t paint the exterior in the rain. Beyond the obvious, it’s essential to know when the optimal time is to start a paint project once the storm is gone. We thought it's a great time to share a few tips to help make your project as seamless as possible during the upcoming months: Schedule early. If you know that you have a project coming up, let us know your timelines. As a family-operated business, we do our best to accommodate, and we will schedule our workload accordingly. Avoid shortcuts. Paint projects should not start until 12 hours after rainfall. This ensures that paint dries properly. Paint on a moist substrate can cause bubbling and poor finishes. We understand deadlines, but we do not want to sacrifice quality. Communication during the project is essential. If we see rain in the forecast, we will schedule our team accordingly. Most importantly, we will communicate what is happening and why along the way. We don’t like it either but…expect delays. As much as we try to adjust schedules, we are all at the mercy of Mother Nature. The best thing you can do is to build a buffer into your time frame. More than anything, we wanted to provide a quick reminder to let us know at Complete Structure Painting your summer paint plans so that we can work together to keep your property looking great and help you keep it protected from moisture. Taking a sensitive and proactive approach toward sustainability is a reflection of the dedication to quality you seek in your choice of commercial painting professional. Attributes like quality, reliability and dedication to customer service should always top the list, but alignment with current requirements and proactive approaches to sustainable painting practices go a step above and beyond. Or, as Complete Structure Painting likes to think of it - it’s the only way to do things! Learn more about the sustainable painting practices that set the benchmark for quality commercial painting services as we enter into Earth Month next week! Good, Clean (Sustainable) Painting PracticesWaste not, want not. Estimating a commercial painting project accurately comes with expertise and experience. Of course, an accurate estimate of any commercial painting project is important for budgetary constraints, but the expertise required to estimate the amount of paint needed to complete the job is also related to sustainable painting. By estimating your paint needs accurately, your painting professionals not only save you money but prevent wastage.
Check your IAQ. Sustainable painting practices are important for the larger environment around us but also apply to elements that directly impact our lives. IAQ, or indoor air quality, is an important consideration for short- and long-term health of those that spend much of their time indoors. Symptoms such as allergies, asthma and other respiratory conditions can develop or become aggravated if special attention is not paid to indoor air quality. Complete Structure Painting pays special attention to sustainable painting that supports a positive IAQ in two important ways.
Do the right thing. How your commercial painting professional disposes of the paint used for your property is probably the last things on your mind as you begin your painting project, but it does have an impact. Best practices for sustainable painting should include a disposal strategy that is beneficial to the environment. Our disposal strategy includes proper disposal and so much more. Complete Structure Painting keeps an inventory of excess paints that can be easily used for touch-up needs. And, when it doesn’t make sense to keep the unused paint in our inventory, we donate to a local business that takes the paint to the island of Haiti - where high-quality paints are much harder to access. At Complete Structure Painting, we take pride in all aspects of the commercial painting services we provide from start to finish and beyond. Sustainable painting practices are baked into our DNA. At every job site, we strive toward top quality, superior customer service with a dedication to providing value to South Florida’s property owner and management companies. Count on us for interior and exterior painting needs including caulking, painting, industrial finishes, hot water pressure cleaning to de-grease and sanitize. ![]() The years fly by at a breakneck speed, and it’s already that time again. Mike Jr. was completely surprised and humbled by the recognition, and the entire team at Compete Structure Painting is wholeheartedly proud! Congratulations, Mike! Have you ever looked at an old car and thought: "Wow, now that’s a classic!"
Surely, there are other times you have looked at a car and said: "Wow, there's a junker!" Chances are that when you made those observations, you had no idea what was going on under the hood – whether the engine was maintained or neglected. The outside of the car – the paint, the rust (or lack of), the cleanliness…it told you a story. Beyond the story, it gave you the perception of value. That same concept holds true for Commercial Real Estate. Public Spaces and Perception Getting beyond the perception of value in Commercial Real Estate is that you want a guest to feel comfortable when he or she enters your space. Signs of neglect – such as peeling paint or rust, can impact community sentiment about an area. Sometimes that sense of worth will translate to further neglect and apathy within the community. On the other hand, when a property is well maintained, and it appears an investment is being made, it encourages others to maintain or upgrade surrounding properties. That’s why when Stiles took over facilities maintenance at the Tri-Rail stations on behalf of SFRTA, they began a strong initiative to upgrade the appearances. Read on to find out how Complete Structure Painting was able to provide painting solutions and help with public perception. |
